Designing the Visual Universe of a No-Holds-Barred Belgian Series

Project Overview

F** You Very, Very Much* isn’t your average Belgian series. It’s bold, raw, and wildly relatable — diving head-first into the chaotic lives of three thirty-something women navigating love, work, and friendship with zero filters.

Season 2 raised the bar in every sense — and it didn’t go unnoticed. The series received six nominations at the 2024 Ensors, including Best Art Direction — a category that directly recognized the visual world we helped build.

The Parlor joined forces with the art department to craft all graphic elements for the show’s sets and screens — giving the fictional universe a distinct visual identity that was as irreverent and emotionally charged as the characters themselves.

Our Contribution

We were responsible for the full spectrum of graphic elements seen on-screen — from fictional brand identities and packaging to digital interfaces, posters, bar signage, and more. Every visual had to feel authentic to the show’s aesthetic: messy but intentional, familiar but slightly off-beat.

Scope of work:

  • In-universe branding & visual props

  • Poster and flyer design

  • Packaging and fake product graphics

  • Phone screens, app UIs, and on-screen graphics

  • Typographic treatments and signage

  • Collaboration with the production designer & on-set teams

Our Approach

We approached the project like visual anthropologists — shaping a world that felt lived-in, layered, and local. With tight production timelines, we worked in agile sprints, delivering assets that were not just functional but expressive.

Our visual language drew from:

  • Belgian pop and club culture

  • Early internet-era UI/UX aesthetics

  • DIY zine and punk design

  • Nostalgic 2000s typography

  • Familiar everyday brands… but with a twist

Results

The series’ distinct visual world was acknowledged with six Ensor nominations, including Best Art Direction — a nod to the collaborative effort of the art department, set design, and visual storytelling.

We’re proud to have contributed to a show that pushes boundaries both narratively and visually.
